The Field Operations Division is the largest Division of the Beaumont Police Department and has an authorized strength of 188 Police Officers. The Field Operations Division consists of four patrol watches that provide 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service to the approximately 113,500 citizens in the City of Beaumont.

The Officers patrol an area of 85 sq. miles and cover over 750 miles of roadway within the City, including Interstate 10 and Highway 69.

The Division also consists of a Traffic Unit which is responsible for the specialized enforcement of traffic laws, investigation of all traffic-related fatalities, and follow-up investigation of hit and run crashes.

The newest addition to the Field Operations Division is the Animal Services Unit. The Animal Services Unit is responsible for the enforcement of the city’s ordinances related to animals. The Animal Services Shelter has animals available for adoption.

In addition to the above Units, the Field Operations Division is also the home of the S.R.T. teams.
