This unit investigates domestic violence cases. Detectives within this unit work with families to break the cycle of domestic abuse. Through working with various agencies like Family Services of Southeast Texas and Jefferson County Crime Victim’s Assistance, they help victims and families develop strategies to escape and avoid abusive situations in the future. In 2022, the Family Violence Unit was assigned and investigated 2,739 cases.
