Their expertise lies in documenting crime scenes, gathering evidence, and providing crucial support in criminal investigations. Beyond their meticulous work, the unit also houses regional AFIS and NIBIN terminals, enabling swift analysis of fingerprint and ballistic data to aid in identifying suspects and tracking firearms used in criminal activities. Crime Scene Unit has also incorporated drones and Leica (a 365 crime scene mapping device).
