Honor Guard

The Beaumont Police Department Honor Guard comprises dedicated volunteers selected from our ranks based on rigorous criteria including physical fitness and appearance. Candidates must demonstrate unwavering motivation and uphold exemplary standards of conduct, exhibiting a natural aptitude for ceremonial duties.

At the forefront of its responsibilities, the Beaumont Police Department Honor Guard solemnly honors fallen police officers and other public servants during funeral services. Additionally, they serve as custodians of our national and state flags, proudly displaying and escorting them during ceremonial events at both local and state levels.

Special Response Team

The Special Response Team (SRT) of the Beaumont Police Department represents a highly trained and mobile field force unit comprised of carefully selected officers drawn from various divisions within the department. Regularly engaging in monthly training sessions, the SRT hones its expertise in crowd control tactics and response strategies. Members of the team undergo rigorous training to ensure they are equipped to provide organized and swift responses to situations involving crowd control challenges and civil unrest.

With a focus on readiness and agility, officers assigned to the SRT undergo specialized training geared towards handling a spectrum of scenarios, from peaceful demonstrations to more volatile situations requiring decisive intervention. Their role is pivotal in maintaining public safety and order during events where crowd dynamics may present challenges. Through their training and commitment, the SRT stands prepared to swiftly and effectively mitigate potential threats to community well-being and uphold the integrity of law enforcement operations.

SWAT and Hostage Negotiation

The SWAT team of the Beaumont Police Department is comprised of 27 members who undertake this role as a voluntary collateral duty. These individuals undergo a rigorous selection process in addition to fulfilling their primary duties within the department.

In conjunction with the SWAT team, an 11-member crisis negotiation team provides essential support, particularly in hostage and barricade situations. Both teams remain on standby around the clock, 365 days a year, ready to deploy their specialized training and equipment in response to high-risk incidents.
