The Police Community Relations unit is responsible for overseeing the training program of the Clergy and Police Partnership (CAPP). CAPP provides a way for local clergy to work alongside the Beaumont Police Department to serve the citizens of Beaumont. The unique resources and skills of CAPP members enable them to offer faith-based assistance in emergency and crisis situations. The CAPP program also serves to bridge the gap between the BPD and individual communities in the city.To participate in the program, clergy must apply and be selected by the Chief and pass the CAPP Academy, a ten-week program to educate members on the organization and mission of the police department.
For more information about the program, please contact Ofc. Danny Valdez at [email protected] or call (409) 880-4838.
